Broccoli is my number one, favorite vegetable on the entire planet… when it’s done right. I like my broccoli to still have a little texture to it, al dente specifically. Mushy broccoli just throws me off and creates more of that sulfur smell thats unpleasant. So today to avoid overcooking, I’m going to show you how a short boil, a shock in ice water, and a quick sauté of the broccoli will turn even the biggest hater of broccoli into someone asking for seconds. The shock in ice water stops the cooking process after the broccoli has been boiled, so your broccoli never overcooks or becomes mushy. The touch of red pepper flakes brings a little kick to this side dish, but you could totally adjust the amount if you want it spicier, or omit the pepper flakes all together if you’re not a fan of extra heat. Either way, you’ll be coming back for more. Hope you enjoy!

Think that may be the best broccoli I’ve had ! Only thing I changed was that I steamed the broccoli for 5 minutes before sautéing. Thanks Speshyl !
